VendorHearth Pro allows each booth option to be assigned a location classification.
These classifications help identify the general type of space being offered and keep booth options organized within an event.
Available Location Types #
VendorHearth includes the following booth location classifications:
- Indoor
- Outdoor
- Food Truck
- Other
- Unspecified
The classification is separate from the name you give the booth type.
Indoor #
Use Indoor for booth spaces located inside a building or other enclosed event space.
For example:
Booth Name: 10′ × 10′ Standard Booth
Location Type: Indoor
You can still create multiple indoor booth options with different sizes, prices, or capacities.
Outdoor #
Use Outdoor for vendor spaces located outside.
For example:
Booth Name: 10′ × 20′ Outdoor Booth
Location Type: Outdoor
The booth name can provide more detail than the location classification itself.
Food Truck #
Use Food Truck for spaces specifically intended for food trucks or similar mobile food vendors.
For example:
Booth Name: Food Truck Space
Location Type: Food Truck
Food truck spaces can have their own pricing and capacity just like other booth types.
Other #
Use Other when a booth or participation option does not fit the standard Indoor, Outdoor, or Food Truck classifications.
This provides flexibility for events that offer unusual or specialized spaces.
Give the booth type a descriptive name so vendors can clearly understand what they are selecting.
Unspecified #
Unspecified can be used when a booth option does not need a specific location classification.
It may also appear on booth information where a location type has not yet been assigned.
For active events, assigning an appropriate classification when possible can make booth information easier to understand and manage.
Location Type Does Not Determine Booth Size #
The location classification does not define the physical size of the booth.
For example, you can have:
- 10′ × 10′ Indoor
- 10′ × 20′ Indoor
- 10′ × 10′ Outdoor
- 10′ × 20′ Outdoor
Each can be created as its own booth option.
Location Type Does Not Determine Price #
Indoor, Outdoor, and Food Truck classifications do not automatically set a price.
Pricing is configured on the individual booth type.
This allows two booth options with the same location classification to have different prices.
Location Type Does Not Determine Capacity #
Capacity is also configured separately.
For example:
10′ × 10′ Indoor — Capacity: 25
10′ × 20′ Indoor — Capacity: 5
Both are classified as Indoor, but VendorHearth can track their availability separately.
Use Clear Booth Names #
The location classification helps VendorHearth organize the booth, but vendors should not have to rely on the classification alone to understand what they are purchasing.
A name such as 10′ × 10′ Indoor Booth is clearer than simply naming the booth Standard.
If an option has special characteristics, include enough information in the booth name to distinguish it from other available options.
Choosing the Right Classification #
When creating a booth type, choose the classification that most closely represents the physical space being offered.
If none of the standard classifications apply, use Other.
If a classification has not yet been determined, Unspecified is available.
