# Creating Vendor Spotlights

VendorHearth Pro can create promotional Vendor Spotlight posts using information already collected from your vendors.

This allows you to promote participating businesses without recreating their information manually for every post.

## Before Creating a Spotlight

Before generating a spotlight, make sure the vendor's information is accurate.

Pay particular attention to:

- Business name
- Business description
- Product information
- Vendor logo
- Social information
- Event participation

The generated spotlight can only be as accurate as the information available in the vendor's record.

## Creating a Vendor Spotlight

Open the **Vendor Spotlights** area in VendorHearth and locate the appropriate event or vendor.

Choose the option to create the spotlight.

VendorHearth uses the available vendor and event information to generate the corresponding WordPress post.

## Review the Generated Post

You can review the generated WordPress post before publishing it.

Check:

- Vendor name
- Business description
- Event information
- Formatting
- Featured image
- Links
- Any additional promotional information

You can edit the WordPress post if adjustments are needed.

## Vendor Logo and Featured Image

When a suitable vendor logo is available, VendorHearth can use it as the featured image for the spotlight.

If the featured image is missing or incorrect, check the vendor's profile to make sure a valid logo has been uploaded.

Vendor logos should be clear enough to display properly when used in promotional content.

## Editing a Spotlight

Because Vendor Spotlights are WordPress posts, you can use the normal WordPress editor to make additional changes.

This gives you control over the final promotional content while still allowing VendorHearth to handle the initial creation.

## Publishing Immediately

If you want the spotlight available immediately, the post can be published through WordPress.

Once published, it becomes publicly available according to your site's normal WordPress configuration.

## Scheduling a Spotlight

Instead of publishing immediately, you can schedule the post for a future date and time.

VendorHearth also includes tools for automatically creating a larger spotlight schedule for an event.

This is especially useful when promoting many vendors in the weeks leading up to a market.

## Social Sharing

If your WordPress website is connected to supported social-sharing services, publishing a Vendor Spotlight may also trigger sharing to connected social accounts.

For example, a properly configured Jetpack social connection may be used to share WordPress posts to supported Facebook or Instagram accounts.

Social sharing is handled by the WordPress social integration, not directly by VendorHearth.

## Avoid Creating Duplicate Spotlights

Before manually creating another spotlight for the same vendor and event, check whether one already exists.

VendorHearth is designed to preserve existing Draft, Scheduled, and Published spotlight posts when working with the spotlight schedule.

This helps prevent duplicate promotional posts.

## Test Before Launching Your Campaign

If this is your first time using Vendor Spotlights, use the **Create Test Spotlight** feature before generating your actual campaign.

This creates a labeled WordPress draft that allows you to inspect the process without creating a real vendor spotlight or automatically publishing anything.

## Next Step

Continue to **Automatically Scheduling Vendor Spotlights** to learn how VendorHearth can build a promotional schedule leading up to your event.
